DVM Admission Updates

         Hello, Welcome to you on my blog. I am going to discuss about DVM admissions in different universities of Pakistan.

         First, we have to know about what is DVM and why we should study this degree. DVM (5-year degree) stands for “doctor of veterinary medicine” and it is a professional degree. Graduates of this medical degree are called veterinarians and they are trained to take care of the health of animals. Veterinary medicine has a large scope or divergence as it includes poultry, livestock, wildlife, pets, and fisheries.

         Livestock is a significant component of the Agriculture sector in our country's agriculture, which contributes more than 36 percent to agriculture GDP and 10 percent to our national GDP and 12-47% to export earnings. The role of livestock in both rural and urban economies may be realized from the fact that almost every family in rural areas and every fifty families in urban areas are engaged in livestock and poultry business. This sector needs technical and institutional support to show its excellence.

         F.Sc (Pre-Medical) or an equivalent examination from a recognized institution/board is required to get admission in DVM in any university. All the universities have their own specified months in which they open admissions. UAF (University of agriculture Faislabad) opens admissions in the months of June and July while UVAS (University of veterinary and animal sciences) opens admissions in the months of August and September. Most universities open their admissions after papers of F.Sc.
